"Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied." ~ I Samuel 17:45
The fate of our nation is still at stake, and this last week two Christian leaders and prophets have abandoned the battlefield. They have listened to the voice of the "giant" of anti-Christ media and anti-Christ political leaders and walked back their faith. That is disappointing, but not surprising, because GOD is doing a work of first, revealing what is in our own hearts, and second, revealing to others our true beliefs. That which is hidden is being revealed.
WHAT IS YOUR FAITH IN?
We have all heard the expression, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." Here is my problem with their rush to apologize and retreat after the Senate certification of the electors: As long as they could see a way in the natural that the battle could be won, they were standing behind their prophetic words that Trump would be re-elected. But when the battle turned, when the giant stepped forward, when the Senate voted, they turned and ran. When they couldn't see how victory could come the world's way, they caved. So what was their faith in? It looks as if their faith was in the courts and the Senate, not God! Obviously, I cannot know their hearts, and I do not doubt their sincerity, but I am grieved that they threw in the towel when all natural means were exhausted. I believe what God has said through His prophets. I know it looks bad. I know it looks impossible, even. But that's precisely when God can move and all the glory goes to Him!
I am reminded of the story of Israel's battle with the Amalekites in Exodus 17:10.
"So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up--one on one side, one on the other--so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword."
Thank God for Aaron and Hur who held up Moses' arms when he was weary. What if they had said, "I'm tired too," and abandoned those who were fighting in the field? This story indicates the battle would have been lost and those on the field would have died! This is not a time to give up--this is a time to TAKE A DEEP BREATH and double down! Thank God for the remnant and the intercessors who are standing strong, supporting those who are on the front lines of this battle!
THIS IS A BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL
I believe God has spoken that He wants to save America. This battle is not about Donald Trump, although he certainly plays a big role in it. This is not a battle between Republicans and Democrats or Conservatives and Republicans, although in the natural that's what it appears to be. This is flat-out a battle between Good and Evil. This is a battle to determine if the United States of America will be a good nation, a sheep nation, under the rule of GOD; or if it will be an evil nation, a goat nation, under the rule of satan. Do you think those words are too harsh? I suggest to you that if you have been watching the news since the Senate certified the electors, you can see signs of what kind of nation the incoming political leaders have planned for us. A nation where dissenting views are not allowed and are harshly punished; a nation where only news approved by the ruling government is allowed to be published; a nation that calls for "cleansing" on it's political enemies. In case you don't know what that means, look at what "cleansing" meant in the Soviet Union, what it meant in Nazi Germany, and what it means in present-day Russia, China, North Korea, and so many other parts of the world. Cleansing means if we can't "re-educate" you to our way of thinking, we will take everything you have and imprison you or kill you. Don't tell me it cannot happen here. It has already begun to happen here! Right now! The only thing in the natural standing between us and that nation is the U.S. Constitution, and the Constitution, inspired by God, is now hanging by a thread. If the Supreme Court is packed with left-wing ideologues, as is being threatened, the U.S. Constitution will be dismantled. The devil hates the Constitution because it protects freedom: freedom of thought, freedom of worship, freedom of religion, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom to protect one's self from the government and criminals. If there is anything the devil hates, it's freedom! That's why it disappears as soon as he takes control!
"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8:36).
We are facing giants today. Very big giants. Very ruthless giants. They are constantly spewing out the propaganda of satan's agenda to try to frighten and intimidate us into submission. They are in our governments and courts, our media and big-tech social platforms, our educational system, big corporations, entertainment artists, producers and financiers, and tragically, even in some of our churches, both large and small. Because the Church was so complacent, we have allowed satan to build mighty strongholds in every area of our society, and we are powerless to overcome them in our own strength.
OUR NUCLEAR SUPERNATURAL WEAPONS
But like the shepherd boy, David, we have powerful weapons. We have the Name of the LORD ALMIGHTY, GOD of the armies of Israel, whom satan and his supporters have defied; and we have Holy Ghost-breathed prayer! This is what some people still don't understand. Abortion is Baal worship, the sacrifice of the unborn to Moloch. Abortion, perversion, lying, cheating, unrighteousness, and corruption are not simply life-style choices, they are rebellion against GOD and His Word. This is a spiritual war! It isn't Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal. It is about whom we will serve: the GOD who created us, loves us, and paid the price Himself for our redemption; or, satan, the fallen angel who tried to take God's throne, was completely defeated and judged, and awaits his time to be cast into the Lake of Fire.
How can any of us, in good conscience, lay down our sword, no matter how desperate the battle or how hopeless it looks? And for those who leap to the conclusion that I am talking about a physical sword or physical violence, I most emphatically am NOT! However, I am saying that I will not surrender my nation to the devil without the most violent spiritual warfare of which I am capable through the power of the Holy Spirit! Especially when I believe God has spoken! Am I saying the prophets or I am infallible? Of course not! But I am saying, when I believe I have heard God, I am going all the way with Him. I am not going to turn back just because I cannot see a natural way for me to go forward. Our hope is in GOD, NOT MAN!
BUT WHAT IF YOU'RE WRONG?
I know some reading this may be saying or at least thinking, But what if you're wrong? What if I am? GOD is still GOD! If I am wrong, then this nation and we, its people, are in for some horrendous times, but GOD will still be with His people. If I am wrong, (and I don't think I am!) I will acknowledge I missed it, I will ask for forgiveness, and I will ask Holy Spirit to continue to teach me and refine me to hear His voice ever more clearly. And I can tell you this: I would much rather apologize to GOD for believing He Could and Would part the Red Sea and deliver this nation than have to apologize to Him for NOT believing that He could and would! Like Esther and Eleazar, my belief is God has spoken; therefore, I will do what He says to do and say what He says to say, and "if I perish, I perish."
What or whom are we putting our trust and faith in? If it's ourselves, we are doomed. But, if our faith and trust is in GOD ALMIGHTY and JESUS, the Commander of the LORD's army, and we are aligned with HIM, we are destined for victory. (See Joshua 5: 13-15). God has a plan. His plan will be victorious, whether it comes in the way I see it or some other way, and there is nothing all the forces of hell can do to stop His plan. I can live with that!
THIS IS A WEEK TO BE IN EARNEST PRAYER
This is a week to be in prayer, holding up the arms of those who are fighting so hard for the will of God to come to this nation and to the earth. Be alert. Be vigilant. Let Holy Spirit birth your prayers. Let Him reveal His purposes to you. This could be a week when some big, seemingly scary things happen. IF they do, as God so often reminds His people in His Word, Do not be afraid and do not be discouraged. GOD has a plan! When you see signs of change, when you feel the stirring of the wind of the Spirit, when you see the cloud forming to bring the promised rain to end the drought, give thanks, celebrate, and ask God to complete His work. What He begins, He completes!
REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE LORD ALMIGHTY, THE LORD of HOSTS, THE GOD of the armies of Israel!
HE is the same yesterday, today, and forever! (See Hebrews 13:8)
